Hi My name is Patty. A few years ago I ran my very first marathon; in St. Louis, MO (the GO St. Louis Marathon) and around mile 21 you (Jake) inspired me to keep going, as I was thinking I would not finish. At the finish line you congratulated me, even stopped and took the time to say hi to my young son who is now 12, and my husband. Your words of encouragement from that first marathon have kept me going ever since, and I have run 6 marathons now ( all of them in St. Louis) I have followed your story on Facebook and always feel encouraged by your “always forward” motto! You are an inspiration to many people and you should feel so proud of your accomplishments! I have a lot to thank you for! I am a registered runner in the upcoming 2014 Boston Marathon, which will be my first marathon as a 49-year-old, and my 7th marathon altogether. It will be my first marathon outside of St. Louis. I have only been a runner for about 5 years now.Thank you for the inspiration, I will be forever grateful to you for encouraging me in my first marathon!
